Hail to Michigan

Ritch and Joan were in Ann Arbor to help commemorate the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s famous speech suggesting the creation of a Peace Corps given on the steps of the Michigan Union at 2:00 a.m. on October 14, 1960.

Ritch shares some ideas with Alumni Association President and CEO Steve Grafton, University of Michigan President Mary Sue Coleman, and Vice President for Development Jerry May

Ritch attended the two-day fall board meeting of the University of Michigan Alumni Association.  One of the highlights was watching the Michigan-Iowa football game from the Alumni Association Suite and visiting with University dignitaries.

David Brandon, former Chairman and CEO of Domino's Pizza and newly appointed Michigan Athletic Director, and Ritch meet before halftime.

  1. Sounds like -- and looks like -- a marvelous experience. JFK's call to public service 50 years ago still rings true today. Some people can make an impact on a grand and public scale, but each of us in our own way should ask ourselves what contribution we can make to making our community, our country and our world a better place.

  2. Professor, I was a little upset about having class canceled this past week but now that I know you were watching the Michigan-Iowa game, I totally understand. See you in class.

  3. While the outcome of the game was disappointing, I'm sure you enjoyed the experience in the updated "Bigger House!" I narrowly missed an opportunity to attend the open house last summer, coming in to A2 the day after it was offered to the public. Like you, I am a UM alum ('87) and love the chance to cheer on the Wolverines!
